I do have some tips on how to love your man really well. Now before I list them out, I have to say that no one knows your strapping hunk of man as well as you do. These are just tips that have worked for my own benefit as well as his.
Those times when so much of who you are goes unnoticed yet your flaws and failures always seem to show up front and center for all the world to see.
When I was growing up and into my late 20s, I experimented with lots of different styles from my hair to the way I dressed and even how I decorated my space. Now that I’m in my 30s well, let’s just say mama knows what she likes. Sure, I can appreciate many different styles but I’m always drawn back to my faves.
This too shall pass” is an old Persian adage. It’s a fable about a powerful king who asks some wise men to create a ring that will make him happy when he is sad. So the men hand him a ring etched with the words “this too shall pass” on it. The ring successfully gave the desired effect of happiness but it also had the adverse effect to make him sad.
Surrendering your life to God doesn’t mean giving up on it. It means giving Him total control over it and trusting that His plans for you are way better than your own. Is it risky? Yes, absolutely. Is it worth it? Yes, absolutely.
Then by God’s grace I realized that my Identity was not in what I did or didn’t do. It wasn’t the color of skin, my intellect, my employment status or the size of my bank account. All those things are great but they are also fleeting. Here today and gone tomorrow. So if all of those things I did or had were stripped from me what would determine who I was?
